Pakistani government intervention forces price rise
The Pakistani government has yet again introduced a levy on all inbound international calls to Pakistan. This measure was introduced on October 1st 2012 and has caused a dramatic increase in the wholesale cost of terminating calls to landlines and mobiles in Pakistan.
The effect of this levy is that from midnight on the 1st October 2012, the cost of calling anywhere in Pakistan using our direct dial service will go up to 6p pence per minute and the cost for using the SMS service will be 9p per minute. (Please see our Pakistani page here for more details.)
This is not the first time that a levy of this kind has been introduced by the Pakistani government and the effect was short lived, with the wholesale price falling back to their pre-levy rates within a matter of weeks. Rest assured we at Call2Call are trying our hardest to bring you the cheapest possible rates.
Please subscribe to our newsletter (you can sign up for this via our Pakistan page) so that you will be informed the moment the prices begin to drop.
